Scrap Happy! Elk Grove
Turn Everyday Objects into Creative Art
Date: June 27, 2026
Ages: 8 and up
Location: Elk Grove, CA
In this hands-on workshop, kids and adults will create a mixed-media artwork using found and recycled materials such as loose toys, bottle caps, buttons, wire, beads, and other interesting objects.
Participants arrange materials together to build a design that can be playful, imaginative, abstract, or symbolic. The focus is on creativity, exploration, and making choices, there is no right or wrong result.
Kids will learn simple composition skills like balance, spacing, and visual flow while working at their own pace. The process is tactile, engaging, and approachable, even for kids who don’t think of themselves as “artists.”
All materials and tools are provided. Each participant leaves with a finished artwork to take home and display.
